Humanitarian Aid for the Peulh People #7141

This people group primarily sustains their livelihood by raising cattle, but after they took sides in the war, they ended up losing most of their livestock. Shunned by society, some of them live in refugee camps while others try to survive out in the bush. Even though they live in areas that are considered “reached,” the Peulh remain unreached. Culturally and religiously, they are very different from the rest of the population. Having an Islamic background, it is difficult for them to understand the gospel and challenging for them to follow Jesus.

Despite the challenges of reaching the Peulh, Encompass partners with evangelists who focus on bringing hope to this downtrodden people group. They travel to where they live, get them supplies, and tell them the gospel through stories. Very few people bring the gospel to this hard-to-reach people group because it requires a lot of courage, patience, mercy, and love.

“Our prayer is that they’d find Christ, and that God would restore them and bless them,” says our former Africa Director, Frank. He continues, “The Peulh are suffering, so our partner evangelists don’t feel right about going to them with empty hands.”
