Inheriting her mother’s creativity, A.O. said, “My favorite pastime as a kid was making things with my hands.” When she turned 11, her favorite present was a sewing machine, which led her to study textiles in college.

She’s loved God ever since her dad introduced her to Jesus at a young age, but when the pandemic forced her to slow down, she got involved in some Bible studies that really reignited her love for God’s Word. Wanting to “get more of God,” she started attending the Geneva Bible Institute in Switzerland. It was there that she surrendered her comfort to God, telling Him, “I want to serve You wherever You want me to. If that’s at home in France, then hallelujah, but if that’s somewhere else, You’ll have to show me.”

A.O. is now stepping out in faith and plans to join Encompass’s team in Central Asia for six months starting in October 2023. This opportunity is the perfect fit, because our team there engages in relational ministry through operating a textile facility. God has been preparing A.O. her whole life for this opportunity, and we’re excited to see how He continues to weave together her passions for textiles and ministry.
