Japan Team Gains Seasoned Mentors

“When you’re talking to Mike Yoder, don’t even breathe interest unless you’re serious!” Randy Clark says with a laugh, recalling the moment that changed everything. A casual conversation about missions with Encompass’s Executive Director a year ago snowballed into a whirlwind of prayer and planning, leading the Clarks to their next big step: joining Encompass World Partners' team in Osaka, Japan.
“We weren’t even sure we were ready,” Susan shares. “We still had kids at home, jobs, and so many loose ends. But when God calls, He doesn’t waste time. And now, it’s all falling into place.”

Married for 28 years, Randy and Susan share a love for adventure, ministry, and cross-cultural connections. Their family is a beautiful mosaic of different nationalities. In 2012, the Clarks felt God calling them to South Africa for what they thought would be a one-year mission trip. After the year, they realized God was calling them to remain in Africa long-term. “We sold our house in California while we were in Africa and put everything into storage,” Randy recalls. “Before we knew it, one year turned into five.”
