Pioneering More Effective Ways of Reaching Japan

After decades—even centuries—of traditional mission activity in Japan, it’s evident that there is a need for non-traditional approaches for reaching Japanese people. But as one national partner put it, “Japanese churches don’t want to promote or fund an out-of-the-box ministry idea until after it is already successful. Pioneering a new approach is hard.” And raising funds for Japanese ministries can be especially challenging, because Japanese churches are typically far fewer, far smaller, and less affluent than US churches.

The Central Japan Partnership project aims to bridge this gap. This project helps our global workers in Japan and Japanese ministry partners with the funds they need to pioneer creative, culturally-relevant approaches to evangelism, discipleship, and mentorship. Through this initiative, we will cover ministry expenses for Japanese Christians who are stepping out in faith to try new methods of outreach. The project will be guided by our global worker Kenji, under the supervision of our Transformation Works Director, Thierry, to ensure that the funds are used as effectively as possible.

But this project is about more than just funding…it’s about catalyzing a shift in how the gospel is shared in Japan. By supporting Japanese Christians directly, you are investing in grassroots efforts led by locals who know their culture best. You are fueling the creativity needed to engage a spiritually-resistant society in fresh, meaningful ways. An initial grant from the Ralph Justiniano Memorial Fund has already kick-started this initiative, but we need your help to sustain it.

With the goal of raising $20,000 over the next four years, the funds you contribute will help empower Japanese  nationals to pioneer more effective ministry efforts. Your support will enable bold, innovative approaches to flourish, bringing the light of Christ to new corners of Japanese society.

Join us in this transformative mission by contributing to our Central Japan Partnership project. Let’s pioneer creative ways of reaching Japan together and see how God uses it to change lives!
