Hundreds Being Trained in and by “Africa Study Bible”

Since its publication in 2022, tens of thousands of copies of the Africa Study Bible have been distributed across French-speaking Africa. Encompass global workers spent years coordinating its production, as it was written by theologians and pastors all across Africa.

“La Bibliditude Perspectives African” is a milestone achievement, because it addresses the unique issues faced by African Christians. It provides culturally familiar examples to help believers live out their faith within their African contexts.

As such a valuable resource, it has received high praise:

“The African Study Bible is a response to a deep longing of African Christians to get biblical answers given by African theologians which fit their culture and context.”
—Frank Puhl, Encompass’s former Africa Director

“The Study Bible allows us to better understand the content of the Bible in relation to our African realities.”
—Bere Celestin, Chadian Pastor

“This study Bible came at the right time. We need to have something that can keep people rooted in the world. It will make a really big impact on the church in Africa, because it gives everyone a better understanding of what the Bible says.”
—Francois Ngoumape, dean of the Charis Seminary in Bangui

“This Bible will impact individual life and collective life. When people go through this Bible, their mind will change—and the way they react, act, and talk will help change society.”
—Augustin Hibaile, Charis Alliance leader

A training team has even been formed to teach African Christians how to get the most out of their new study Bibles. The team has also been showing pastors how to use it for teaching and preaching. As a result, hundreds of African believers and church leaders have received the training in Ivory Coast, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, and Chad.

“We are really encouraged and thrilled to see Christians from different denominations coming together over this Bible,” says Dr. Abel N’djerareou, one of the authors and trainers.

Since its initial release in 2022, more copies of the Africa Study Bible continue to be printed, and more training sessions continue to be scheduled. Church leaders all over Africa are making new efforts to equip, train, and disciple—and the movement is gaining momentum!

It’s so awesome to see how God is using the Africa Study Bible, and we can’t wait to see how He continues to multiply its impact!
