Chad’s oil revenue has dwindled in the last couple of years, which has led to one of the most serious economic crises the country has ever seen. This developing country, which depends on oil for 70% of its federal revenue, is faced with the negative repercussions of oil’s decline in the global market and the mismanagement of federal resources.
Most of the government workforce has not been paid since August of 2016, which has resulted in strikes. With all the political and economic tension, it is a praise to God that the AEEFT could get 11 Chadian teachers into the greatly-needed government training program for the success of the elementary schools.
The Encompass Chad Educational Coalition, which is made up of Chadians and non-Chadians, has committed itself to help the AEEFT send at least five teachers to this government training program every year for the next 6 years. It is crucial for these teachers to be properly trained so that they can effectively raise up the next generation of Chadians in the name of Jesus Christ.
Join us in praising God for his work in getting the 11 teachers accepted into the program through the Coalition! Also, pray for the economic resolution of Chad and for the Chadian Church to remain a beacon of hope in these dark times.
If you are interested in donating to this cause, the Coalition needs to raise $25,000 to fulfill their commitment to send 30 teachers by 2020. Your contribution would be greatly appreciated!
