Vlad* grew up in the mountainous heartland of Central Asia. All he knew was Muslim traditions, Soviet era systems, and poverty. Like many people in this region, Vlad and his family are friendly and open, welcoming visitors and inviting them into their homes to meet their extended families. Yet Vlad struggled with the lack of hope and the brokenness in relationships.
Then Vlad met people who were different. They genuinely cared for others, even helping his family during a difficult time. They talked a lot about Jesus, which he found intriguing. But like many, the only way to support his family was to leave his home, work far away in another country, and send money back. Far from family and from his newfound friends, Vlad feels very alone.
Encompass teams are using business ventures to build relationships and demonstrate the reality of Jesus in day-to-day life. These development projects serve the community, allowing people like Vlad to stay with his family and have the opportunity to learn more. Your business training can help expand these ministries while you receive mentorship in a new culture and new ministry paradigms.
